CRS MELBOURNE: ROOMS CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN
All the rooms at this Melbourne music studio were custom built for functionality and purpose, specific sonic characteristics and qualities. The walls of each room were designed with no parallel surfaces to maximize reverberation times and to minimize cancellation in the crucial bottom end frequencies. They were built from layers of brick, timber, plaster and natural compressed straw panels that act as bass traps and are treated with an array of different absorbers and diffusers to further control room reflections. The ceiling upper is also cement lined for further noise cancellation. All isolation rooms have Merbau hardwood timber floating floors and are mechanically and acoustically separated from each other. The rooms are further complimented with a warm, modern interior design that many Melbourne recording artists love. The custom tailored Melbourne Recording Studio and it’s recording spaces were designed to capture a full bodied sound and a lush warmth to the overall tone of our recordings. CRS music recording studio in Melbourne is also complemented by an impressive array of new and classic outboard equipment and a large selection of new and vintage microphones.
CONTROL ROOM (THE TRIDENT ROOM)

The Recording Studio’s control room (Trident Room) is based around a rare and beautiful sounding 1970′s, British built Trident series 80B analogue recording console with Audio Kinetics automation. The console’s brass tt patch bays are linked to tie lines in the 3 different recording spaces, as well as a 24-track 2″ analogue multi track recorder, the Pro-Tools rig, the AMPEX ATR-102 2-track recorder and the outboard processors. The Trident room is big enough to accommodate a band comfortably as well as a producer and an engineer. There is also enough space for musicians to perform in the control room too.
